Academic Support

Pfeiffer Library is named for former Tiffin University President, Richard C. Pfeiffer and his wife Jean E. Pfeiffer. Originally built in 1968, Pfeiffer Library underwent expansion in 1996. The library has doubled its size by expanding the lower level and the main floor and adding an upper level. The new addition has tripled its capacity for resources and study space.
The Library is a member of the Ohio Private Academic Libraries (OPAL) consortium and OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio’s college and university libraries. This allows students, staff, and faculty access to quick inter library loans, scholarly journals, and online databases.
Pfeiffer Library has an outstanding collection of books and subscribes to more than 200 journals to support its academic programs. In addition to print resources, Pfeiffer Library provides its journal collection in microfiche format and has an expanding selection of databases, including periodical indexes. Special collections include the National Criminal Justice Reference Service Document Collection and the University Archives.
Circulation is automated and requires using the bar code on the Tiffin University Students ID cards or Pfeiffer Library cards. Library services include reference assistance, photocopying, interlibrary loan, computerized bibliographic retrieval, and reserve items.

Graduate Requirements

To be eligible for graduation, an Executive Master of Business Administration Degree candidate must complete the 36 semester hours of required course work with a cumulative point average of at least 3.00.
Most students will follow the normal graduation procedure of finishing their studies and be approved to receive their degrees by the Tiffin University Faculty at the last Faculty meeting before graduation.

However, a number of students who have completed the vast majority of their programs of studies have requested permission to attend graduation with their fellow classmates. Students who have achieved sufficient progress and appropriate status, will be allowed to participate in a graduation ceremony. However, such attendance does not constitute meeting graduation requirement. In order to qualify for the graduation exercise, they must:
1. be in a good standing in their program of study (i.e., not have any current academic censure, such as probation),
2. have significantly less than one semester’s coursework to complete. In Executive MBA program, this means four credit hours or fewer, be registerd for Summer session in course required for them to graduate.

Incomplete Coursework

If a student cannot finish the course work by the end of course, the student must petition, in writing, the instructor of the course for a grade of „I”. The instructor, at his or her discretion and judgment, may give the student additional time to complete the necessary work, up to 15 weeks following the semester in which the course was taken. If the student does not complete the necessary work and earn a completed grade by the time allotted, the grade of „I” will be change to a „WD” (withdrawn). The student will need to re-enroll in the course and pay the tuition for a second time.

Academic Probation and Dismissal

1. A grade of „F” in any course in the Executive MBA Program will lead to academic dismissal of the student.
2. A graduate student is allowed a maximum of two C in the Executive MBA Program. Unless the Graduate Faculty votes a special one-semester probation status to repeat a „C” grade, a third „C” or lower grade will result in academic dismissal.
Any student dismissed for academic reasons may seek re-admission to the Vice President for Graduate and External Academic Programs after one academic semester in session following the dismissal.

Withdrawal Policy

Students must notify the Tiffin University at University of Bucharest Office of withdrawals from classes. Classes dropped after mid-term will carry the grade of WD.
When a student officialy notified the Tiffin University at University of Bucharest Office of the intent to withdraw from a course, refund of tuition will be computed based on a schedule.

Re-enrolling in a course

A student may re-enroll in courses in which he/ she earned a grade C, with permission from the Dean of Graduate studies. When a course is repeated, both grades will remain on the student’s transcript, but only the grade on repeated course work will be used to compute the student’s cumulative grade point average.
